Platinum medaka have a clean, bright silver-white colouring with a subtle metallic sheen. They almost glow under good lighting, which makes them a standout in both indoor tanks and outdoor setups. One of the more refined-looking medaka varieties, they pair well with darker coloured fish for contrast.

Medaka are hardy, peaceful, and easy to breed. They do well in nano tanks, ponds, and outdoor tubs, and they do not need a heater. I breed my medaka outdoors in QLD following the natural seasons, which produces tougher, more colourful fish. They are social fish and do best in groups of 6 or more.
