Azolla is a tiny floating fern that forms a dense green carpet on the water surface. It grows fast, absorbs nutrients, and provides shade for fish and shrimp below. The leaves can turn reddish in bright light, which looks striking. It is incredibly easy to grow, just drop it in. Scoop out the excess when it covers too much of the surface.
