A tiny, slow growing rosette plant with round leaves, soft hairs, and silver veining running over deep green, with red flushing underneath. It sends out fine thread-like runners with small plantlets on the end, which is where the strawberry part of the name comes from, and those plantlets will root themselves into any damp surface they reach. Left alone on a ledge it will slowly hang a curtain of little plants down the front of your build. It stays small enough to plant in a nano setup without taking it over. Give it medium light, damp substrate rather than wet, and some airflow, as it prefers cooler conditions and does not enjoy a hot sealed tank.

  • Growth rate: Slow
  • Light: Medium
  • Humidity: Moderate to high, with airflow
  • Placement: Foreground, or on ledges where the runners can hang
  • Difficulty: Beginner-friendly

You will receive one rooted Saxifraga stolonifera 'Yakushima' plant.

Not suitable for submerged use.
