A shingling climber that presses its leaves flat against whatever it grows on, so it ends up looking like the background itself is alive. New growth comes in coppery red before hardening off to deep green with pale veining. It is slow to start and will usually sit still for a few weeks after planting while it grips on, then creep steadily from there. Press it flat against damp cork or wood and hold it with a clip or a bit of fishing line until it roots in. The one thing it will not forgive is dry air, so it needs a lidded setup with consistently high humidity.
- Growth rate: Slow
- Light: Low to medium
- Humidity: High, 80% and above
- Placement: Background or hardscape, climbing
