Medaka, Galaxy (Pink peach) - Japanese Rice Fish - Oryzias Latipes

Galaxy medaka have a soft pink-peach body colour with scattered metallic specks that give them a celestial, other-worldly look. The combination of warm pastel tones and sparkle makes them one of the more visually unique medaka varieties. They look particularly beautiful in natural light where the metallic effect really comes to life.

Medaka are hardy, peaceful, and easy to breed. They do well in nano tanks, ponds, and outdoor tubs, and they do not need a heater. I breed my medaka outdoors in QLD following the natural seasons, which produces tougher, more colourful fish. They are social fish and do best in groups of 6 or more.
