Blue Stardust medaka have a deep blue-grey body with scattered metallic specks that shimmer like stars. The effect is most visible under direct light, where the speckling catches and reflects. They are a more unusual variety that appeals to medaka enthusiasts looking for something beyond the standard colours.
Medaka are hardy, peaceful, and easy to breed. They do well in nano tanks, ponds, and outdoor tubs, and they do not need a heater. I breed my medaka outdoors in QLD following the natural seasons, which produces tougher, more colourful fish. They are social fish and do best in groups of 6 or more.
