Clown killifish are tiny surface-dwelling fish with bold black and cream banding and a vivid blue and red tail. Despite being called a killifish, they are not annual fish and will live for several years. They are one of the most colourful nano fish available and look stunning in a well-planted tank viewed from above. They spend most of their time near the surface.
Home-bred by me in QLD and raised on live food.
- Adult size: 3cm
- Temperament: Peaceful
- Best kept in: Groups of 6 or more
- Tank size: 20L minimum
- Temperature: 22–26°C
- Diet: Small live and frozen food, will accept crushed dry food
- Difficulty: Easy to intermediate
- Note: Surface dweller, needs a tight-fitting lid
