Banana leaves are a large, broad-leafed botanical that breaks down slowly in the aquarium, releasing mild tannins as it goes. Shrimp particularly enjoy grazing on decomposing banana leaf, and the large surface area provides plenty of feeding space. They add a natural look to blackwater setups and can be torn into smaller pieces for nano tanks.
