Brown and black ramshorns have a natural, earthy look with dark shells and bodies. They blend into most tank setups and do their cleaning work without drawing too much attention. If you want the algae-grazing and clean-up benefits of ramshorns without a bright colour, these are a solid, low-key choice.

Ramshorn snails are excellent algae grazers and clean-up crew, they will work through leftover food, decaying plant matter, and soft algae without touching healthy plants. They breed readily in aquariums, so their population will naturally adjust to the amount of food available. Peaceful with all tankmates.
