Java fern is one of the most popular aquarium plants for good reason, it is almost impossible to kill. It grows in low light, does not need CO2, and does not need substrate. Just attach it to driftwood or rock with super glue or fishing line and leave it alone. Do not bury the rhizome in substrate or it will rot. Once established, it will produce baby plantlets on its leaves that you can detach and spread around the tank.
- Growth rate: Slow to moderate
- Light: Low to medium
- CO2: Not required
- Placement: Attach to hardscape (do not plant in substrate)
- Difficulty: Beginner-friendly
You will receive one java fern plant,Β 3-5 leaves per rhizomeΒ
